From History to Hermeneutics
This book is a follow up of sorts to One Holy Book: How the Bible Came to Be and Why It Matters. In One Holy Book, I explored the historical question about how the Bible formed. In this new book I’m focusing on the hermeneutical question about how the Bible functions for readers. Here I pursue questions like, What is the big idea of the Bible as a whole? How do we grasp the grand storyline of the Bible? How do the many parts relate to the broader big picture? How does the message of the Bible relate to your Christian life?
